Strange Men 03:52
Good people can’t you see what a waste I’ve made of this life? And I’ve poured it out into the crowded streets Making my way to the pub To find someone to meet Yeah… And my people can’t you find a better use of my mind other than TV? I’m pissing it out into bars and on cars And if you’re believing all the lies from other folks You have no clue at all Strange men, strange men who have no clue at all Who have no clue at all For a long time I thought that I had seen it all on my block But if I can make it down to pay all of my rent Yeah, well, and I had to sell out one or two of my friends to make the ends Oh, and I fell in love maybe once, maybe twice So I think I figure out to say who’s wrong or right in this life Strange men, strange men who have no clue at all Who have no clue at all Broken down inside the city walls Falling deeper into bottomless snake holes People speeding without the wheels to drive There’s not a decent man or girl coming from left in sight Just some greedy men filling up their own hands Raping and pillaging all the land Strange men, strange men who have no clue at all Who have no clue at all

And it feels like billionaires are making war for fun And when I think of the situation It’s like a theme park filled with lost boys and guns Oh, and it feels like, feels like the world is coming down on me And it feels like, feels like the world is coming down But it’s cashed, it’s cashed for free When I try to put a candle to it It’s like the walls are closing in on me And like a school full of fools They turn on the TV and buy every word of it Until they say… Oh, and it feels like, feels like the world is coming down on me And it feels like, feels like the world is coming down But it’s cashed, it’s cashed for free And only the lonely ones come into knowing the world this way And I can’t believe the way we’re walking thru life all the same But I hope you walk the line and join this march of ours Why don’t you get off the front porch To fight with us to find what you’re looking for A bit of heaven on Earth To hide the hate, dearth, blood, and shame They brought when they came And it feels like, feels like the world is coming down on me Oh, and it feels like, feels like the world is coming down on me But it’s cashed, it’s cashed for free

Maybe I should leave Maybe you should go Maybe I'll forget in a hundred years or so It was my idea, it couldn't have been worse You will never understand my loneliness My loneliness... I'd struggle for the power The freedom just to run Just to have the control of my life again It used to be so fun to get off on the world Now you'd be hard pressed to find that poor boy again That poor boy again... You can't forget the choices you made when you were young And when you see our faces we'll make sure that you can't run We were picking up the time Counting out the words When you kissed me with your pin-sharp razor tongue We should go in for the kill, but it would only make it worse It’s a good time for a new line of fighting back Of fighting back... You can't forget the choices you made when you were young And when you see our faces we'll make sure that you can't run. LA LA LA LA LA LA LA

Well Mama wasn't too proud About what her son had done You know he went in the crowd With his loaded gun Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang Well he had papa's eyes Glazed from drinking anger's cup You know he wrote it all down And said it must be done Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang I've seen this scene So many times in my poor head I wish, I wish I was dreaming but I'm wide awake It's building up, It's building up Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang As his cross hairs watered up His clammy fingers tightened round He longed to hear the echo Of that awful sound Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang The blue men came runnin' up Fingers itching from the rush Before he could make a sound He was six feet under Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang I've seen this scene So many times in my poor head I wish, I wish I was dreaming but I'm wide awake It's building up, It's building up Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang Bang, Bang, Bang

Stand up, stand up for the first time in your life Don’t you wanna paint a life outside the lines? Come down, from your glass house on the hill And think back upon the truth you used to live Your charge, peppered with the pain of life’s pitfalls She asked me are you gonna heed or pass the call? My love, my love is gonna change the world someday You can read it in the web of stars she said You gotta make it better for yourself You gotta make it, you gotta make it… You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind, baby You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind, baby The years, they pulled the wanderlust out of my head Said I don’t need it now that I’m a man But my past, spent away singing songs with a band I only spoke my mind with my guitar in hand, and I thought… You gotta make it better for yourself You gotta make it, you gotta make it… You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind, baby You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind, baby Born in the heart, deep in a barren land, I was left all alone Drifting all around, skipping back and forth from city to towns My thoughts were my radio But now I’m grown, no more adventure to show Long gave up my boyhood code ‘til a gypsy woman looked me straight in the eye and peered into my soul She said ‘Damn boy, you’ve already wasted plenty of time in your life, You know what you need, get that guitar back in your mind’s eye. Cause this is the game, it’s getting better everyday.' This is the game, it's getting better everyday This is the game, it's getting better everyday This is the game, it's getting better everyday You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind, baby You got the heart, you got the soul, you got the mind baby

…and he looked under his bed, Into the closet, he didn't find it So then grumbled, grumbled and he said I'll take a walk, it seems to be lost out in the street Into the park, out in the public Asking the people to see if they'd help out, but they all said "sorry, we don't wanna get involved" He will never find out He will never find out The life I lead behind his back... at all When I woke up this morning I had a terrible pain in my back It's been like seven years since it's bothered me like that I've been carrying a load that I didn't mean to grab Whether I deserved it or not is really quite beside the fact I cried this morning when I read the news Like old John Lennon I want to sing it to you Like a bad post modern painting intent to confuse It rushed right in and thru me What a terrible, terrible muse... Dear Momma, I didn't mean to make you cry But you know just who I am I'm my father's son, and you need to know I'm gonna break some hearts and travel the world Dear Momma, I didn't mean to make you cry But you know just who I am I'm my father's son, oh, and you need to know I'm gonna break some hearts and travel the world

In Due Time 03:40
And it’s alright with me Your heart will find In due time And it’s okay if you leave My pain will fight I tell myself But my heart’s all broken Pieces scattered on the ground And quite a pairing we made You see it too late Or maybe not When the band is all over Come see the lover in me Love will never really ever go away Love will never really ever go away And it’s alright with me

Cruising through this game we call life Even though I'm far behind I pay it no mind Day to day I live like I know I should Letting trouble pass me by until I met you And the whole world changes because I'm with you, I'm with you And the whole world changes because I'm with you, I'm with you Late, late nights smoking in whiskey-town Parties when she's around I come prepared And I need to get out of this constant vice I need to find my old life The one without you And the whole world changes because I'm with you, I'm with you And the whole world changes because I'm with you, I'm with you

Style and grace are such distractions When raw purity is what I'm seeking A slap in the face is much preferred to Than a smile and a wink That’ll never get through to me 'Cause you’re not who I’m meant to meet And I was never meant for you And you were never meant for me La la la da da da... Baby help me please Find the meaning in the vast mystery of a woman The strength behind the weak The gentle whisper in the midst of screaming From the lowest valley to the highest peak Is where I’ll search until we meet Is where I’ll stay for eternity Until the mountains become the sea La la la da da da... You had my heart But then you wanted my soul You had it all But then you wanted more You wanted more Ooo... Style and grace

Welcome to Wonderland Welcome to Wonderland You’re just a child, you have no fear I’ve seen you growing all these years You play the game, you want it all I can’t believe you’re climbing up that wall Welcome to Wonderland Welcome to Wonderland You need the key to help you find The darker regions in your mind You penetrate my living soul Please take me as you’re sliding down that hole Welcome to Wonderland Welcome to Wonderland To my Wonderland, my Wonderland, my Wonderland Welcome to my Wonderland

Real 07:31
When your life’s made of the same routine ‘til your old And you’re looking for purpose in a story that’s already been told The models for living you leaned on seem for a bygone time So you piece them together creating a meaning for life You’ve made it real safe for yourself for a while. And somehow believe they’ll believe you when you turn on a smile A fool’s a man convinced he’s got it right. Sure of his steps and decisions will turn out fine Delusions of Heaven lead him to justify Actions that time will surely make look cold Make it, make it, make it ...real Make it, make it, make it ...real There’s no meaning for life in the field of time It’s all made up, imagined, just to get by Dreams for the weak and scared For those who can’t live a purpose without a lie Make it, make it, make it ...real Make it, make it, make it ...real

about

Imperativa Records welcomes you to the world of Astra Heights!

In 2014, the band teamed up with producer/ composer Yoav Goren of Immediate Music, the preeminent producers of Epic Music. This collaboration has resulted in the following collection of tracks with a bigger and bolder sound than previous Astra Heights releases and aims to please the epic rock lover in all of us. Check out this EPK for a little background on the project: bit.ly/astraheightsimepk

Astra Heights emerged from Houston, Texas over a decade ago and quickly made their presence known in Los Angeles, where they currently live, work, and play. Playing their own distinct brand of alternative classic rock, they have won over music connoisseurs all across the industry and country.

The band is comprised of three brothers, Mark (vocals), James (bass), and Timothy Morales (vocals, multi-instrumentalist) with Bernard Yin (lead guitar). They recorded their debut album for Universal Records with eclectic producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes, Linkin Park) which was released digitally in 2007. After a self-released acoustic EP the following year, they worked with legendary rock producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith) in 2009 and in 2011, Daniel Ash of Love & Rockets and Bauhaus fame sought them out to remix and release a song and video collaboration. The 2015 release on Imperativa also features Josh Freese on drums.
